EVENTS 2021

Please note that all events listed below are organised by the GLARAC Association. The association are proud to hold the following events to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the sinking of the three ships.
Dates and times will be published as soon as they become available.
For more details on all events please check out www.glarac.co.uk

It should be noted that due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions some events may have to be cancelled. At the time of writing (March 2021), only the Plymouth Memorial Weekend is going ahead. I have left the postponed events in the calendar to show the schedule for a typical year.

March

Please note that there will not be a memorial service this year in Malta. Each year a memorial service is held by the GLARAC Malta association. Whilst honouring all the casualties of Glorious, Ardent & Acasta, this event especially honours the Maltese casualties of HMS Glorious, which were the largest loss of Maltese on any RN ship during WW2. Each year a contingent of UK based members make the journey to Malta to take part in what has become a wonderful annual event.

November

Sunday 14th November - Cenotaph Parade London

For several years the GLARAC association has participated in the march past at the Royal British Legion's Remembrance Day Parade in London. The criteria for tickets has changed recently so it may not be possible for the association to obtain tickets. If this changes I will update the website. GLARAC members across the country attend local Remembrance Day services and memorials. Wreathes will be laid at various venues around the UK on behalf of the GLARAC association, including Portsmouth and Plymouth.
